From luxury B&B’s and beach-houses to caravan parks and backpackers – there’s something for everyone.
Whether you’re staying for the night, weekend, week or even a month, the region has a fantastic selection of accommodation options to suit all budgets and preferences.
While there’s a variety of stunning beach shacks and holiday homes to rent, there’s also a collection of quality motels and bed and breakfasts, many luxurious. A visitor favourite is Wine & Roses Bed and Breakfast in McLaren Vale. The popular spot has vineyard vistas and a selection of different rooms available in its cosy-yet-grand homestead.
Owner Patrisse Caddle loves to share her passion for the region with visitors. “It truly is a fantastic place to indulge all your senses,” she says. “When you are so passionate about where you live, you want to share it with others. We offer our tips for restaurants and wineries and also recommend lots of local places to explore. Just a short walk from us, you can have dinner at a host of local favourites like Vasarelli’s, Carmels Bar and Grill and Oscars.” No matter where you stay, chatting to the owner will always give you the best local knowledge.
If you’re after a budget-friendly option, there’s a collection of caravan parks at Port Willunga, Aldinga, Moana, Christies Beach and McLaren Vale – perfect for a cosy cabin, parking your van or pitching a tent. There’s McLaren Vale Backpackers, too, who’ll even help you find local vineyard work!
If you fall in love with the food, wine and coast as much as the local community here, pop into one of the local real estate agents (Harcourts is a great place to start).
If you’re still stuck for accommodation ideas, head into the McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Visitor Information Centre for a list of available stays in the region (or search their accommodation offerings online with free wi-fi available). Pick up a flyer, grab a map and have a chat to the staff – you’re sure to find something to suit your needs.
