Inkwell Wines have recently added one of the region’s most anticipated accommodation options – Hotel California Road. To meet the needs of discerning international clients and friends, winery owners Dudley Brown and Dr Irina Santiago-Brown developed their micro hotel built using repurposed shipping containers. Setting a benchmark in sustainable design, their new tasting room and three accommodation suites comprise of 20 containers located on their organic vineyard. “We have travelled around the world and we have friends from overseas who want to come to visit and stay in amazing places,” says owner Dudley Brown. “They want a luxury experience, so we created one.”

With expansive views over Whites Valley and only the sound of birds out your front door, these suites are pure luxury. “So many people want to experience what it’s like living in a vineyard, so we wanted it to be completely immersive. It’s so tranquil.”

The suites are designed to delight too – floating beds and window-front bathtubs. “All our rooms have tubs [complete with wine glass holder] and huge decks which are separate and private from the other rooms. We’ve also got high-end audio and video, as well as a pillow menu too.”
